Check out this Los Angeles Times article about School On Wheels, an organization that provides educational support for homeless kids. I volunteered with School on Wheels in shelters in S. Central LA and the East Valley for several years. The founder is Agnes Stevens, this very interesting ex-nun who started the organization out of her mobile home in Malibu (of all places!). If you’re local (LA/Ventura County), you too can volunteer. I highly recommend it! They need help because demand is obviously very high right now. Here’s the contact info for School on Wheels:
